Can Composite Decking Hold a Hot Tub?

Ecoscape Composite decking can be strong enough to hold a hot tub. The durable outer layer and advanced co-extrusion used in the Forma Composite Decking range also means the boards will not rot, and you won’t have to worry about dealing with water damage or warping.

While composite decking can typically hold a fair amount of weight (around 100lb per square foot), it’s important to consult with us first to see if your specific hot tub will be too heavy. In most cases, composite decking should be able to support the weight of a hot tub, but it’s always best to check first. Call our Ecoscape experts on 0845 9011 988.

We generally recommend closing centres on decking substructure down to 200mm when thinking of placing a hot tub on your deck. Good practice is to sit the hot tub on a concrete pad and deck around.
