You can use wooden joists when installing composite decking. Ecoscape Timber-Free Support Systems
At Ecoscape, we offer aluminium or solid plastic sub-frames as a base for your composite deck. The decking sub-frame consists of a timber-free support system with either aluminium or recycled plastic joists rather than wood joists and can be laid on the provided adjustable pedestals, solid plastic posts or concrete block works. Hidden fixings, including starter-clips and t-clips, are then attached to the perimeter of the frame so that the composite decking boards can simply clip on easily and securely.
