Ecoscape & The Environment

At Ecoscape, we are firm advocates for the protection of our environment and planet. Not only are our products made from up to 95% recycled materials, with all our wood being FSC certified; but we also contribute to environmental bodies, green causes and have been featured in numerous green publications.

100 Trees Club

As it stands, climate change represents one of the most significant threats to the health of our global ecosystem and the way we live. Although, efforts are being made both by businesses and individuals to try to significantly decrease our collective carbon emissions, unfortunately positive results aren’t being delivered as we hoped. Putting things into perspective, due to increased carbon dioxide emissions and other human activities, the planet’s average surface temperature has risen an average of 1.18 degrees Celsius since the late 19th century (NASA, 2020) and as a result the ocean has absorbed much of this increased heat, with the top 100 meters of ocean showing warming of more than 0.6 degrees Fahrenheit (0.33 degrees Celsius) since 1969 (NASA, 2020).

RSPB

Ecoscape UK has joined the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. Founded in 1889, the RSPB is the UK’s largest nature conservation charity with over 12,000 active volunteers and over a million members contributing almost one million hours every year. Working on projects both nationally and internationally, the RSPB aims to protect and restore UK wildlife so that towns, coasts and countryside areas can one day be flourishing with nature – for the benefit of species and people.

Manchester Climate Change

In addition to the membership with the 100 trees club, Ecoscape UK has committed to playing its part in limiting the impacts of climate change by signing the Manchester Climate Change Agency’s ‘Commitment to Act’. In November 2018 Manchester formally committed to emitting a maximum of 15 million tonnes of CO2 between 2018 and 2100 (our ‘carbon budget’), reducing our CO2 emissions by at least 13% year-on-year, and becoming a zero-carbon city by 2038 at the latest (Manchester Climate Change Agency, 2021).

Bumblebee Conservation Trust

Ecoscape UK is determined to support all aspects of the natural environment. Now,  more so than ever before, it’s especially important to support vulnerable species that contribute greatly to our wider environment but aren’t necessarily being protected themselves, consequently resulting in declining numbers. For instance, take our large, fuzzy, four-winged friend… the Bumblebee.

Ecologi

Ecoscape have partnered with Ecologi to become a climate positive workforce. We plant over 10 trees a day, as well as help to fund projects that offset carbon emissions.
